What is MyRealFood?
MyRealFood is a native mobile app where you can scan the product and know if it is organic (real) food, processed food or ultra-processed. You can set up your own menus and set the calories and weight objectives. There is a community where you can share your questions, recipes, posts and information.
You can download the app clicking on the following buttons:
Research
The first step was to analyze the surveys and interviews that the client provided to me and see which insights and patterns I can get to understand the user needs.
I did a competitor analysis to see which companies and apps are in the market doing the same, what features they have to make them successful and where they are failing.
User Flow
Even though the client asked me to design an MVP prototype I did the whole app user flow so the client could understand how all the screens are interacting between each other and which are the different paths the user can take.
Low Fidelity Prototype
Designing an app was clear from the beginning because users need to scan their products when they are doing their groceries and check which kind of food they are buying.
The following sketches were used to build a paper prototype with marvel app with aim to do the first user test and see if the product and interaction is understandable and accomplishes the user needs.
Moodboard
After deciding the structure of the platform and designing how this would work, I focused my attention on designing the GUI using their brand color as a main color and call to action color.
I wanted to convey a fresh and dynamic look and feel using rounded edge in UI form elements and bright colors because the target user is a mid-age, and because the app is used on the spot in a rapid fashion.
High-Fidelity Prototype
The high-fidelity prototype was designed to get the final user test feedback and to see if the user understands what the different colors mean and if they can use the app fluently.
I made some iterations to improve the final prototype according to the user feedback.
